From Yangtze Valley China. Alphonse Karr reaches 6-7m. Use as a feature plant or privacy screen. Will tolerate temperatures down to -9 degrees Celsius
Characteristics
Alphonse Karr has an upright growth with striking yellow striped culms. New culms in Summer and Autumn shed their sheaths revealing a deep pink. Exposure to sunshine subsequently turns the culms bright yellow.
