Black Bamboo
From Taiwan & China, a running (invasive) species for pots only. The black culms make this a crowd favourite & sought after species for an ornamental feature. Can be grown in well lit indoors.
Characteristics
Reaches 7-8m height, the culm diameter up to 5cm. New culms emerge green, darkening until they turn shiny, ebony. A fast grower, reaching full height in a couple of years. Can withstand temperatures down to -20c.
