Stripe Stem Fern Leaf
Native to China. Small hedge with tight habit. Happy in most climates but prefers cooler temperatures. Can suffer with mealy bug in humid climates.
Characteristics
A 3-4m screener. Some would also say an ornamental. Stripe Stem is at its best in Summer when its new culms are flushed pink, turning to a slim green and yellow striped support for the small fern-like leaves. Forms a dense hedge for screening. Can be manicured to make an attractive ornamental.
